Most AI meeting tools only transcribe audio — they can't actually see your video content. Recal uses advanced vision AI to analyze what's happening visually: screen shares, presentations, whiteboard sketches, and demos. This means Recal captures context that pure transcription tools completely miss.

The Starter plan includes 10 upload/link recaps per month with a maximum of 30 minutes per item. You'll get AI summaries and tasks, with 7-day retention. It's perfect for trying out Recal and seeing the value before upgrading.

Absolutely. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share, sell, or use your meeting content to train AI models. All recordings and transcripts are stored securely and only accessible by you. You can delete your data at any time.

All plans include Slack (for summarizing threads and channels), Notion (for syncing meeting notes), and Linear (for auto-creating issues from action items). Pro and Premium plans add Google Calendar sync for automatic meeting capture.

Yes! Recal works for any type of conversation — video calls, phone calls, or in-person meetings. Just open Recal on your laptop or phone and hit record. The AI handles speaker identification automatically.

Our transcription accuracy is typically 95%+ for clear audio in English. We support multiple languages and accents. For best results, we recommend using a good microphone and minimizing background noise. You can always edit transcripts if needed.

Starter and Pro users get email support with responses within 24 hours. Premium plan customers receive priority support with faster response times. We also have extensive documentation and video tutorials to help you get the most out of Recal.

Installing is simple: click 'Add to Slack' on our website, authorize Recal for your workspace, and you're ready to go. No IT support needed — the setup takes less than 60 seconds.

Recal only accesses messages in channels where you explicitly invoke the /recal command. We never read private DMs or store your full message history. Your data stays private and is only processed when you ask for a summary.

Yes! The Recal bot can summarize any channel or thread it's invited to, including private channels. For DMs, you can use our personal mode to summarize conversations you're part of.

Recal can summarize up to 500 messages in a single request. For longer threads or channels, it intelligently focuses on the most relevant and recent content to give you actionable insights.

Yes, Recal works with Slack Connect channels. Just invite the bot to the shared channel and use /recal as usual. Both your team and external partners can benefit from AI summaries.

Each summary includes key discussion points, decisions made, action items with assignees, deadlines mentioned, and links to important messages. You can customize the output format to match your team's needs.

Pro and Premium plans include unlimited Slack summaries. The Starter plan includes 10 summaries per month. All summaries are stored in your Recal dashboard for easy reference.

Recal provides its own built-in video meeting room. Create a meeting in one click, share the link with participants, and start talking. AI transcription and recording happen automatically — no extensions or integrations needed.

Yes! While Recal's video rooms are great for remote calls, you can also use it for in-person meetings. Just open Recal on your laptop, start a meeting, and capture the conversation. Perfect for client meetings, interviews, or brainstorms.

Our AI automatically detects different speakers and labels them throughout the transcript. Participants who join through the meeting link are identified automatically. You can also rename speakers after the meeting.

No! Anyone can join your meeting via the shared link without signing up. Only the meeting host needs a Recal account. Participants just click the link and join instantly.

Recal's infrastructure handles temporary connection issues gracefully. If you briefly disconnect, you can rejoin the same meeting. The recording continues for other participants and your transcript stays intact.

Yes! You can edit any part of the transcript to fix names, correct terms, or add context. Edits are saved and reflected in summaries and exports.

Storage depends on your plan: 7 days for Starter, 30 days for Pro, and 180 days for Premium. Transcripts and summaries are kept longer. You can always export before deletion.

Yes! Unlike most AI tools that only transcribe audio, Recal uses vision AI to analyze your video content. It can see screen shares, presentations, whiteboard sketches, and demos — capturing visual context that other tools miss entirely. This means you get insights from what was shown, not just what was said.

Recal supports all major audio and video formats including MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, WebM, MOV, and more. If your media player can play it, Recal can transcribe it.

You can upload files up to 2GB. For larger files, we recommend compressing the audio or using our link feature to process content directly from cloud storage URLs.

Most files are processed in minutes. A 1-hour recording typically takes 3-5 minutes to transcribe and summarize. You'll receive a notification when your recap is ready.

Yes! You can either download files and upload them directly, or use our link feature to paste a shareable URL. We support links from most cloud storage providers.

Accuracy depends on audio quality. Clear recordings achieve 95%+ accuracy. For best results, use files with minimal background noise and clear speaker voices.

Absolutely! Recal works great for podcasts, interviews, lectures, webinars, and any other recorded content. The AI adapts its summary style based on the content type.

Yes. Files are encrypted during upload and storage. Original files are deleted after processing — we only keep the transcript and summary. You can delete everything at any time.

Anything! Slack messages, emails, meeting notes, Notion pages, chat logs, or any unstructured text. Our AI understands context and extracts action items regardless of format.

Our AI looks for commitments, deadlines, assignments, and task-related language. It understands phrases like 'can you...', 'we need to...', 'by Friday', and implicit requests in natural conversation.

Yes! When names or @mentions are included in the text, Recal identifies and assigns the responsible person. You can always edit assignees before saving.

Currently, text-to-tasks works best with English content. We're expanding language support — other languages may work but with reduced accuracy.

Absolutely! Export tasks to Linear, copy as markdown, or sync to your connected integrations. Tasks can flow directly into your existing project management workflow.

You can paste up to 50,000 characters at once — roughly 25 pages of text. For longer content, we recommend breaking it into logical sections for better task extraction.

Include clear context about who said what and when. @mentions, deadlines, and explicit task language help the AI identify action items more accurately.

Open any task in Recal and click 'Export to Linear' from the task menu. The task becomes a Linear issue instantly, with title, description, priority, and a link back to the source. You can also configure default settings so exports land in the right team and project.

Recal exports the task title, description (converted to Markdown), priority level, and optionally an assignee. Each exported issue also includes a link back to the original Recal session for full context.

Yes! In Settings → Integrations → Linear, you can configure a default team, project, and assignee. All exported tasks will use these defaults, saving you time on every export.

Recal tracks which tasks have been exported and prevents duplicates. If you try to export a task that's already in Linear, you'll see a link to the existing issue instead.

Yes! Tasks that have been exported to Linear show a Linear icon badge. Click it to jump directly to the issue in Linear.

Currently, you can connect one Linear workspace per Recal account. If you need multiple workspaces, you can disconnect and reconnect to a different one at any time.

Go to Settings → Integrations in the Recal app and click 'Connect Linear'. Authorize the integration, then choose your default team. Setup takes under a minute and works with any Linear workspace.

Connect your Notion workspace with one click, then select a database where you want meeting notes synced. Each meeting creates a new page with the transcript, summary, action items, and all key details automatically organized.

Yes! You can choose which fields to sync — full transcript, summary only, action items, attendees, timestamps, and more. Map them to your existing Notion properties or let Recal create new ones.

Absolutely. Recal can sync to any existing database. Just connect your workspace, select the target database, and map your preferred fields. Your existing pages and structure remain untouched.

Yes! Premium users can set up multiple sync destinations. For example, sync product meetings to one database and sales calls to another. Pro users can sync to one database.

Both options are available. Enable auto-sync for hands-free operation, or use manual sync when you want to review and edit summaries before they appear in Notion.

Recal only requests permission to create and edit pages in databases you specifically select. We never access other workspaces, pages, or personal notes outside your chosen integration scope.

Yes! Recal preserves Notion's relational database features. You can link meeting notes to project pages, team members, or any other database in your workspace.
